This web site is aimed to help guide you through the different choices of gas and electricity supplier in the UK to find savings and the cheapest energy suppliers. The web site has been running for over 11 years and has come under new ownership from 2010 / 2011 but still retains the heritage it has from years of helping the UK consumer.

A Brief History

In 1999 the first generation of this web site was launched at the same time as the UK energy market started to deregulate. The deregulating energy market meant that instead of the UK having the same gas supplier for your gas supply (British Gas) and just one choice of electricity supplier depending on the region of the country you live in, the market opened up to allow more competition.

Degregulation of the energy market meant there were a number of companies offering switching services that did not provide 100% impartial advice. To help provide the UK consumer with accurate and impartial information Ofgem lunched its accreditation scheme.

SaveOnYourBills.co.uk were one of the first companies to gain this accreditation for being completely impartial and providing a free service to allow the UK consumer to compare energy prices and switch suppliers with confidence. In the early 2000’s Energywatch took over the running of this service and SaveOnYourBills.co.uk continued to keep it’s accreditation year on year.
